Hammer, knife used in Taco Bell robberies in Thousand Oaks, cops say
Ventura County authorities are searching for a man who they believe robbed two Taco Bells in Thousand Oaks — once with a hammer, and then with a knife.
In the first incident on Dec. 3, the suspect placed an order at the Taco Bell at 1928 E. Avenida De Los Arboles and when the cashier opened the drawer, he pulled out “a hammer from inside his shorts and demanded money from the register,” according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
The man then fled in a Jeep Cherokee with an undisclosed amount of money.
About two weeks later, on Dec. 16, there was another robbery at a Taco Bell at 1330 North Moorpark Road. Authorities believe the same man entered restaurant, this time with a second suspect.
One of them ordered a drink, and when the cashier opened the register, the other pulled out a knife and demanded money.
They both fled the scene.
