Video: Minivan buried under mountain of garbage in accident
Aerial images show the dramatic result of an accident Thursday morning in which a garbage-loaded tractor trailer overturned on a minivan in Georgia.
The white Honda minivan was at a four-way intersection in Canton, about 40 miles north of Atlanta, when the big rig tried to make a right turn. Local police say the truck was being driven too fast. It toppled over, spilling a huge amount garbage as well as some diesel fuel, TV station WXIA reported.
The minivan, driven by a 37-year-old local woman, was encased in garbage.
The woman, as well as a 46-year-old man driving the truck, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Hazardous-material teams were called in to clean up the mess, authorities said.
