CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / CHULA VISTA
The bronze pig stolen from in front of a Mexican restaurant has been returned, police said Friday.
The owner of Miguel’s restaurant told police he received a call from one of the pignappers saying the statue could be found near the city library. Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department found the pig, wrapped in a blanket.
The 3-foot-tall pig is being kept in the police evidence room while being checked for fingerprints and damage. San Diego County Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
