Despite the hundreds of applications I've sent to various companies I haven't been able to secure interviews as often as I would have like to, and my interviews are few and far between. Temp job agences are of no help; although I felt I aced the last interview I went to from a temp agency, I was told that the company thought that I was "not a fit" for the company. How could I "not be a fit" for a company? I worked my butt off a a well known bank in the So Cal area for 17 years, worked at a mortgage servicing company for another 4 years, and then on to a bank outsourcing company for 2 years before I was laid off. I've built great personal friendships at the places I worked at. I am a team player, always got the job done efficiently. Now that I've run out of my 99 weeks of Unemployment Insurance I'm left to get whatever job that is out there; to live like a 3rd World citizen while these banks get TARP money and survive. I cannot accept being forced to live like a 3rd World citizen. This Government should have used the money it used to bail out the Auto Industry and the Banks in 2008 to better use and bail out the unemployed. For now, I'm fighting to get my resume out there for a job located in the San Gabriel Valley (I live in West Covina, CA and cannot afford long commutes to and from work).
