The following is a series of stories focusing on the lives of illegal immigrants in Southern California.The state funded the procedures for two young illegal migrants. But when they hit 21, coverage passed to L.A. County, which doesn't have the resources to implant the new organs they both needed again.
COLUMN ONE
To support her family, an undocumented worker gathers recyclables from street-side containers. 'I do it out of necessity,' she says.

1. Why after all these years people who takes care of these issue of illegal immigration haven't solved this problem? Maybe it is very interesting for the region/country (economy, work force or politics). I have always heard about problems with illegal immigrants in the U.S here in Brazil through the press. Do you really think that the American government wants the illegals out of the U.S? The illegals immigrants are wherever they are doing whatever they want because they were smarter than those who are responsable to stop or control it.
