Dennis Hopper Life was as True to his Art as Film. His life and work were one in the same. Having been born in 1950 and living in Venice Beach as a Sculptor from 1968-1980 his work has always had a extreme effect on my Psyche. He was forever pushing the boundary's of what was sociably acceptable.
He lived his life as a Artist in a tough neighborhood in Venice not in Beverly Hills or Malibu as other Hollywood Icons/which he was. For this he was respected in the Art World too. Hopper was his own man on his own terms on his own time.
Because he prefer to mixed with Artists, he was always ready to take us to the Edge with his Drugs and Alcohol fueled performance's, primed and ready to explode on the screen. From Easy Rider to Blue Velvet where Reality and Psychosis Merged.
I will miss his grand performance's and look forward to seeing his Art at MOCA on July 11, 2010. My wife and I were hoping he would see the date realized. I know he left us knowing his work and carrier was exceptional and his Art Work at Moca was on its way.
THE END> R.I.P.
