Re “IRS also flagged groups labeled ‘progressive,’” June 25

There you go: Newly released documents show the IRS flagged liberal as well as conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.

And so they should have. No political group should receive tax-free status, and flagging applications from groups with names like “tea party” or “progressive” is simply an easy way to cull out political groups more quickly.

I’m sick of hearing the Republicans crow about this. The fact that the scrutiny went both ways should receive just as much publicity.
