MoveOn.org Members Are in the Mainstream

Re “GOP Pounces on Byrd Link to Liberal Group,” April 6: How dare the GOP say that I and thousands and thousands of everyday citizen members of MoveOn.org are out of the mainstream!

Financially, I am just making it, like most of my fellow members, so we pool our small resources to support people and ideas that are true to the American spirit of democracy. Each of us, as individuals, could hardly expect to buy candidates like the giant corporations do. Who’s in the mainstream -- us or the zillionaires whose money buys influence by the carload?

I’m proud to support candidates such as Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.). And I’m so mad that I’m going to make a donation.
