LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24, 2007-- The Los Angeles Times Media Group today announced the launch of My LATimes (https://my.latimes.com). The free, customizable news feed service utilizes the fast growing Really Simple Syndication (RSS) technology and is designed to give consumers a faster, easier, and more flexible way to view information and content that is most important to them. My LATimes allows consumers to instantly read content from many online news sources on one webpage. Any section of latimes.com can be viewed in personalized order and users can also receive the latest news from a select group of online news sites recommended by Times editors - a key differentiator from other customizable news aggregators.

“Latimes.com is filling a vital gap in the news reader market for the average online user,” said General Manager of latimes.com and Vice President of Times Media Group Robertson Barrett. “My LATimes features a simple, easy to use interface that allows users to quickly organize and view content from a variety of outlets all at once – both from The Times and other high-quality, complementary sources suggested by our editors.”

To support the launch of My LATimes the company is enabling consumers to subscribe to Los Angeles Times content from any article page on latimes.com. It is the first of several multimedia products to be rolled out this year as part of the company’s overarching commitment to develop relevant and engaging experiences for its readers and users.
