Blue Man Group

The three earless mute guys from Blue Man Group are surely Las Vegas’ most improbable leading men.

Still, the trio fills their theater night after night, year after year, based on their singular ability to create a communally joyful and entirely weird experience for people from all corners of the globe who may share little except membership in the human race.

To be fair, the guys can beat drumsticks on PVC pipe, splatter paint and stuff their cheeks with marshmallows with the best of them. But their most arresting talent may be the wordless, wide-eyed stare. It’s simultaneously unnerving and totally ridiculous.

One thing that surprises audiences is that Blue Man Group rocks, and rocks hard. Blue Man Group is backed by a full-fledged rock band decked out in day-glo regalia.

So, what’s Blue Man all about?

“At the end of the day, the show’s message is to follow your bliss,” said longtime Blue Man Scott Kinworthy. “We really want the audience to go on a journey with us, and if they can experience, at the very least, a little bliss with us, then maybe that will carry them through the rest of their day.”
