More than 30 locations are included in Haunted Orange County’s Ghost Walks and public and private investigations. Here are highlights of the county’s haunted places.

Antique Station & Depot in Orange

The antique store has generated reports of records being tossed one by one into an aisle from an old milk crate, a China teacup being thrown at a customer and landing near her feet unbroken, and a male voice saying the store manager’s name in her ear.

Chapman University in Orange

An unseen presence is said to have produced loud footsteps during a lecture in a classroom in the 100-year-old Smith Hall, and ghostly figures reportedly appear in the catwalks and upstage of the Waltmar Theatre.

Elliott Alumni House in Orange

Chapman purchased the building in 2011 for alumni. Before that it was the Victorian Manor Tea House. Guests have reported images of what appeared to be a woman standing on the upstairs balcony, sounds of small footsteps on the second floor and children’s laughter.

Matoska Trading Company (formerly the Old Orange Undertaker’s Office) in Orange

The current owner of the store, which deals in Native American trade goods, has reported movement — including a loud crash.

Royer Mansion in Orange

The building that now houses the city’s chamber of commerce has been the site of unexplained noises, cold spots and objects moving on their own.

Howe-Waffle House and Medical Museum in Santa Ana

The landmark has a long history of unexplained activity, including sounds of children’s footsteps on the second floor, disembodied voices in the attic, shadow people in the downstairs parlor and the sensation of being touched. These are just a few examples reported in the past few months.

Yorba Cemetery in Yorba Linda

The apparition of a woman in a pink dress is said to return every two to five years on June 15.

Anaheim White House Restaurant in Anaheim

People have reported children’s laughter, doors opening and closing on their own, items put away by staff at night having been moved to the dining room the next day and the feeling of someone standing nearby.

The Cellar in Fullerton

The restaurant has been the site of reports of apparitions, perpetually cold areas, flickering lights and table settings being moved from where they were originally placed.

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park

At the theme park, which was once a berry farm, people have reported lights turning on and off on their own, the apparition of an elderly woman in the back dining room area of Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant, shadows appearing on walls, cold spots and disembodied footsteps.
