NBA teams shuffle rosters with free agents, trades
Almost 200 current NBA players -- 43% of all players under contract -- are new to their team. Among them are free agent signees such as LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer and Shaquille O’Neal. More than 40 veteran players changed teams because of trades. They are joined by more than 70 rookies.
Notes: Colored circles indicate players under contract to particular teams at the start of the season. Starters based on team depth charts at that time. In the case of players involved in sign-and-trade deals, the player who agreed to a new contract is listed as a free agent whereas the player or players received in return are shown as traded. "Other new players" includes former D-Leaguers and NBA veterans who were out of the league last season, including some who played overseas and others who were recovering from a major injury.
