Bucs trade Kellen Winslow, sign Dallas Clark. Good moves? [Poll]

Monday was a busy day for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the tight end front.

First they traded former all-pro Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks for an undisclosed conditional draft pick in 2013. Then they signed another ex-pro bowler in free agent Dallas Clark, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts.

Last season Winslow led the Bucs in receptions (75) and was a very close second in receiving yards to Mike Williams (771 to 763). In his three years with Tampa Bay he had 218 receptions for 2,377 yards and 12 touchdowns.

But earlier on Monday, Winslow told SiriusXM radio that new Coach Greg Winslow “was kind of upset that I wasn’t there working out with the team in the off-season and for the first week of OTAs [organized team activities].”

Winslow said he had been working out on his own and had been planning to join the team Monday, until he got a call from his coach Saturday telling him not to bother.

“I’ve been there the last three years and I’ve had a successful career so far,” Winslow said. “You don’t just get rid of one of your best players because of that.”

The 28-year-old Winslow -- a first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2004 draft who missed all of the 2005 season after tearing a knee ligament in a motorcycle accident -- has 437 career receptions for 4,836 yards and 23 touchdowns.

In Clark, the Buccaneers get a nine-year veteran who has made 427 catches for 4,887 yards and 46 touchdowns. Last year, in his only season without Peyton Manning as quarterback, Clark had 34 catches for 352 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games.

Clark will join promising young tight end Luke Stocker, who had 12 receptions for 92 yards as a rookie, in Tampa Bay last season.
