UCLA Runs Past Fresno State, 92-76

Nikki Blue and Noelle Quinn combined for 43 points to lead No. 18 UCLA to a 92-76 victory over Fresno State on Saturday in front of an announced crowd of 6,785 at Save Mart Center in Fresno.

Blue’s 22 points and Quinn’s 21 points and game-high 12 rebounds helped the Bruins (6-1) hand the Bulldogs (6-1) their first loss of the season.

UCLA came back from an early 17-10 deficit to take a 39-38 lead at halftime, the first time the Bulldogs have trailed at the half this season. The Bruins opened the second half with a 16-3 run to take a 55-41 lead.

Four Bruins scored in double figures, with Lisa Willis finishing with 18 points and Amanda Livingston chipping in 13.

Fresno State’s Mirenda Swearengin led all scorers with 23 points, including 15 in the first half.

She was nine of 20 shooting, including five of 14 from three-point range.

UCLA’s 92 points scored and 76 points given up were season highs.

USC 66, South Dakota State 59 -- Freshman Brynn Cameron tied a school record with six three-point baskets as part of a game-high 20-point performance for the Trojans at the Lyon Center.

The victory gave the Trojans a 5-2 record under first-year Coach Mark Trakh.

USC battled to hold off the Jackrabbits (6-3). The Trojans’ biggest lead of the game, 10 points, came with only 1:08 left to play. Cameron started the game by making her first four three-point shots.
