Chandler Parsons probably is used to getting asked for autographs by Houston Rockets fans.

But not quite under these circumstances.

The Rockets’ starting small forward was on his way to work a bit early Monday to see whether he’d be able to play in that night’s game against San Antonio after injuring himself on a dunk Friday against Minnesota.

Good thing he got off to that early start. Parsons told the Houston Chronicle that he was involved in a traffic accident -- and that the responsible driver was apparently a big fan of the team.

“She said she ran a red light and it was her fault,” Parsons said. “She had a little car so it kind of messed up the front bumper of my car. She was OK. Asked me to sign her insurance card.”

Can’t really blame her. You never know when you’re going to crash into the SUV of an NBA player again. Gotta seize the moment.

While Parsons’ car might have been a bit banged up, he wasn’t. The third-year player was cleared for the game and wound up leading the Rockets with 21 points in a 104-98 victory over the Spurs that sealed the fourth seed in the West for Houston.
