Entering the final stretch at the U.S. Women's Open, Inbee Park looked ready to make golfing history.
Park held a comfortable lead at 10-under through 12 holes on Sunday, poised to win her third consecutive major this season.
No woman has done that since Babe Didrikson Zaharias in 1950, and no woman has won the first three in a season when the schedule included four majors.
"I mean, leading means that you played better than everybody else for three days and you're in the best position going into the final day, so I think you have an advantage over others," Park said heading into the final round.
"You probably have a little more pressure, but I think you should be able to handle that."
Park has looked dominant at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. With a pair of birdies around the turn, she had widened her lead to six strokes over I.K. Kim in second place.
