Homer Glen's Becca Mann misses Olympic open water spot

Becca Mann's hopes of making the 2016 U.S. Olympic team now rest in the pool. The swimmer from Homer Glen finished fast in Tuesday's 10-kilometer race at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, but still fell a disappointing 15 seconds short of the top 10 finish she needed to earn a spot in Rio. Mann, 17, a high school senior who trains in Baltimore, wound up 14th.  She finished eighth in the event at the 2013 worlds and has won the last two U.S. titles in the race.
