Yolanda and the Thief (TNT Sunday at 9:50 p.m.): This lush Vincente Minnelli-directed fairy tale with Fred Astaire and Lucille Bremer is one of the most venturesome of the big ‘40s musicals and features dazzling dance sequences staged by Eugene Loring and a bathtub sequence that out-DeMilles DeMille. (2:25) The Unholy Three (TNT Saturday at midnight): Lon Chaney’s only talkie, a 1930 remake of a 1925 Tod Browning silent, isn’t nearly as good as the original, but it’s fun to watch Chaney play a shady sideshow ventriloquist on the lam who disguises himself as an old lady who runs a Manhattan pet shop. (1:42) Heaven’s Gate (Channel 5 Saturday at 7 p.m.): Michael Cimino’s 1980 Western, in either of its cuts (this is the short version), was the most controversial movie of the ‘80s, a stunning landmark film in which its central theme is the betrayal of the American dream by those in power.
