Shirley MacLaine will receive the Los Angeles Film Critics’ career achievement honor at the group’s annual awards dinner on Jan. 14.
MacLaine, 82, won the lead actress Oscar for “Terms of Endearment” in 1984. The American Film Institute has also given her a lifetime honor and, in 2013, she received the Kennedy Center Honor for her lifetime of contributions to American culture through the performing arts.
“When we first called her, she said, ‘I demand a recount,’” LAFCA President Claudia Puig says. “She’s still such a vital presence in the film community.”
