Shifting Tides: The watershed-wide public access problem

We are not alone. Lack of public water access affects most of the 11,684 miles of shoreline that make up the Chesapeake Bay watershed, which more than 17 million people call home. In Maryland, Anne Arundel County's shoreline stretches 533 miles. Yet, the county has few areas open to residents who don't live in private communities who pay extra to enjoy the water.
