The opener of a four-game series between the Angels and the Oakland Athletics took a bizarre turn in the ninth inning Thursday night on a play that led to the A's filing a formal protest. The night then took a significant turn for the better for the Angels, who notched their 10th walk-off win of the season when Howie Kendrick hit a 10th-inning sacrifice fly for a 4-3 victory at Angel Stadium.
