The NCAA women's tournament's opening day featured three upsets, two by 11th-seeded teams — Gonzaga and Miami — and one by ninth-seeded De Paul on Friday.
Gonzaga's 82-69 victory came over sixth-seeded George Washington at Corvallis, Ore.
The Colonials (29-4) outrebounded the Bulldogs 51-39 but shot only 29.3%.
Gonzaga (25-7) will next play Oregon State.
