Airfare deals from smaller airports aren’t as common as from their big brothers, so here’s a surprise on a round trip on Delta from Burbank to New York’s JFK: $248, including all taxes and fees.

Summer demand for airline seats will be strong, according to Airlines for America, which released its summer travel forecast Thursday. It projected that demand for summer flights would be greater than it has been in six years. So it may pay to wait until past that summer peak to travel, thus lowering your costs.

This fare is for travel between Sept. 3 and Oct. 30 and for flights Mondays to Thursdays.

It is subject to availability, but there is no minimum stay. You must buy your ticket at least 14 days in advance.
