Reader summer vacation photos: More highlights

In September, we highlighted 34 of our favorite summer travel photos shot by our readers. They were but a fraction of the photos you sent us. As we bid summer goodbye, we wanted to take one more look, and these photos also caught our eye. They’re a reminder that vacations, on one level, are about the things you see and do, but more than that, they’re about the memories, some of them frozen in photographic amber. That is the richness of travel. We thank our readers for opening their photo treasure chests from the Summer of 2011 for you.
