There’s no rush
Finally, an article [“How to Become an American in Paris,” Travel Insider, Feb. 24] that hits on one of the most worthwhile parts of traveling and living overseas: taking time to get to know the place and people. When I was 19, I spent three weeks living in Paris getting to know the place and people. Since then, I have lived in several other countries, and the most rewarding parts are the experiences and the friends I have made.
