Canary’s redo

The review of Santa Barbara’s Canary Hotel [“Canary Is Something of an Odd Duck,” April 27] totally missed the forest for leaves on scattered trees. The hotel’s lobby, dining room, bar, conference areas and rooftop facilities just underwent major renovation and redesign, while many room amenities were upgraded.

Business associates who recently stayed there were pleased with the place. When The Times reviews a hotel that just underwent a major face-lift, readers want to know whether the renovations have improved the quality of the hotel.
