Apocalypse, schmapocalypse: Here’s Maya info you can believe

Good news — the end is near. In just a few days, we won’t have to hear any more 12/21/12 Mayan apocalypse nonsense, at least not until the next addled end-of-the-world idea gains currency.

But it wouldn’t hurt to look busy until then, right? And the Maya territory in and around the Mexican state of Yucatan is as fascinating as jungle ruins and a half-lost civilization can get.
