Offbeat Traveler: Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico

Share

Traveling through Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado this past August, Boni Peluso visited Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, an alien-like landscape in northern New Mexico. Unusual weather paired with the monument’s hoodoos, rock formations carved by erosion, made Peluso’s trip especially memorable. “I felt like I was not only transported back in time, but to another planet,” Peluso said.

Kasha-Katuwe lies 40 miles west of Santa Fe on the Pajarito Plateau. The monument features historical sites, hiking trails and wildlife. For more information, visit the monument’s website.
