Members of a U.S. marching band perform during the St. Patrick's Day parade in Dublin on Monday, one of the biggest events on the Emerald Isle. The 3,000-strong parade snaked its way through the city center, bolstered by 16 marching bands from countries including Ireland, Japan, Italy and the United States.

The St. Patrick's Day tradition of fun has spread worldwide to places like Moscow and Tokyo, which don't have significant Irish populations.
