At least 10 dead after suicide car bomb attack in Yemen

Yemeni officials said Wednesday a suicide car bombing targeted a security compound near the airport in the southern city of Aden, killing at least 10 people.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which came as Muslims worldwide celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Yemen has recently been hit by attacks from an Islamic State affiliate.

Officials said that after the car bomb hit the Central Security headquarters, adjacent to Aden International Airport, militants stormed the compound and were clashing with soldiers. Explosions were heard and ambulance sirens wailed in the distance.
