An archaeological team in Egypt has unearthed a 3,600-year-old wooden sarcophagus with a well-preserved mummy inside. The rare find was discovered in the ancient city of Luxor by a Spanish team working in coordination with Egyptian authorities, said Egypt’s antiquities minister, Mohammed Ibrahim.

The 6-foot-long sarcophagus is made of wood. Its significance is magnified by its hieroglyphic inscriptions and delicate, still-colorful carvings of feathers, Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry said.  (Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities / Associated Press)
