West Germany’s economy is continuing its expansive course, backed by rising capital spending and exports, the West German Chamber of Industry and Trade reported.

The chamber said about one third of the 14,000 West German companies it surveyed recently said they would increase capital spending in 1985 from 1984 levels. About half said they would maintain 1984 capital spending levels this year.

The survey said 90% of the enterprises expect an increase in their exports in 1985.
