Anaheim : City Council Approves Hotel, Office Complex

Share

The City Council unanimously approved plans Tuesday for a multimillion-dollar high-rise hotel and office complex immediately north of Anaheim Stadium.

Developers plan to replace a small-scale recreational race course with an 11-story, 277-room hotel and two high-rise office towers on the 10.7-acre parcel, which is on Katella Avenue just west of the Orange Freeway.

The office towers will be 12 and 15 stories, with a parking structure on the site. Owner L.C. Smull and Business Properties of Irvine also are developing an office building immediately west of the complex and another office tower on the north side of Katella Avenue, city planning officials said.

Council members voted 5 to 0 after they were assured that a chain-link fence blocking access to the Anaheim Stadium parking lot would be covered with a thorny bush that would be both attractive and serve as a deterrent to stadium customers who park elsewhere to avoid parking fees.
