BUDAPEST, Hungary —
A 28-year-old Hungarian was executed Tuesday for killing three prison guards in Szeged, in southern Hungary, the official MTI news agency said.
MTI said Richard Richter was serving a seven-year term for attempted murder when he ran amok with a knife in the Szeged prison in October, killing the three guards and wounding four. In Hungary, executions are normally carried out by hanging.
