Hotel Project Approved:The Fullerton Planning Commission has unanimously approved a four-story Great Western hotel project at Imperial Highway and Bonita Place. Construction on the 84,000-square-foot hotel, to be located near the city’s boundaries with La Habra and Brea, will begin by mid-summer. The project is expected to generate substantial monies for the city’s general fund through an 8% bed tax. Nearby developments, proposed by Hughes Aircraft Co. and Beckman Instruments Inc., are expected to provide the hotel with a large portion of its business.
