The Region : Jim Brown Pleads Innocent in Sex Case

Professional football star-turned-actor Jim Brown pleaded innocent to charges of rape, sexual battery and assault filed in connection with an alleged attack Feb. 19 on a 33-year-old schoolteacher who was a guest at Brown’s Hollywood Hills home. Los Angeles Municipal Judge Elva R. Soper scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 18. Brown, 49, free on $17,500 bail, was accompanied to court by his attorney, Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., and several supporters. Among them was Carol Moses, 22, who was arrested with Brown. No charges were filed against Moses.
