The San Diego Unified School District and its clerical workers have reached a tentative settlement in a lengthy contract dispute, a district spokeswoman said Tuesday. Members of the Classified Employees Assn., which represents the district’s 1,100 clerical workers, will meet Friday afternoon at Crawford High School for a ratification vote on the proposed pact. District officials and the leaders of the clerical workers union came to terms over the weekend, district spokeswoman Norma Trost said. Terms of the proposal are not to be disclosed until Friday by mutual consent of the district and union, Trost said. The clerical workers, who have worked without a contract since July 1, have staged several demonstrations at the district headquarters in an effort to win the new contract.
