An 11,760-foot-high peak in Yosemite National Park was officially named Mt. Ansel Adams to honor the famed nature photographer who died a year ago. The name was approved by the U.S. Board of Geographic Names. The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley will display 12 original Adams prints through this month. A ceremony will be held in August to dedicate the new name for the mountain between Electra and Forester peaks on the park’s southeastern boundary.
