San Diego
A San Diego police officer shot a man suspected of burglarizing a Pacific Beach house Friday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.
After shouting several warnings to the suspect, Sgt. Alvin Beckett, 47, a plainclothes detective, fired one shot at the unidentified man as he dived from the window and ran from the house on Bayonne Drive.
Another suspect escaped through a different window and was not caught, the spokeswoman said. The wounded man was taken by ambulance to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition late Friday.
