Church Group Opposes Embargo

WASHINGTON —
The National Council of Churches said today that it strongly opposes President Reagan’s trade embargo against Nicaragua and urged the President to end his efforts to bring down the Sandinista government.
In a letter to Reagan, top officials of the 31-member Protestant and Orthodox ecumenical agency also said they will continue in their relief and aid efforts to help the churches and people of Nicaragua.
