Duc Tien Vo, 33, the Vietnamese refugee whose brother flew from Vietnam to Chicago to donate bone marrow, remains in critical condition, but doctors at Loyola University Medical Center are now considering going ahead with the marrow transplant in an attempt to save him from fatal aplastic anemia, hospital spokesman Michael J. Ward said. Tests have determined that Duc’s 18-year-old brother, Vo Hoang Van, is a compatible donor and the medical team is “now actively considering the operation,” Ward said.
