Lawndale Gets Remote TV Studio

A remote television production "studio on wheels" has been given to Lawndale by Group W Cable, which holds the city's cable television franchise.

The van, which came wrapped with a pink ribbon, was accepted by the City Council last week. It will be used to produce community programs ranging from council meetings to sports events that will air on public access channels.

The television production van includes two television cameras, tape editing equipment and a special effects generator.

Group W was required to give a van to the city under its franchise agreement.
