Chemical Hazard Slows Cleanup in Derailment

EASTLAND, Tex. —
The Wreckage of a freight train derailment that triggered an explosion and fireball in this West Texas town continued smoldering Sunday as railroad workers and hazardous chemical specialists made slow progress cleaning it up.
A tank car containing liquid propylene exploded Friday after a truck hit the train at a crossing. More than 1,000 persons were evacuated, but most returned home Saturday.
