A 25-year-old man was killed and his friend was wounded by suspected robbers who fired on the two as they were walking in the 900 block of Eastman Avenue in East Los Angeles, the Sheriff’s Department reported. Witnesses told investigators that the two were shot after revealing that they had no money. The dead man’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. The second victim, Stephen Denny, 26, of Lynwood was wounded in the leg and was reported in stable condition at County-USC Medical Center. Police were seeking two male suspects.
