A judge was ordered to stand trial in Darlington, Wis., on charges of first-degree murder in the stabbing of attorney James Klein, whose law partner had defeated the judge in an April reelection bid. The partner, William Johnston, testified that he saw Lafayette County Circuit Judge Daniel P. McDonald, 43, stab Klein repeatedly when he went to the law office he shared with Klein and another lawyer. Johnston is scheduled to replace McDonald as judge Aug. 1.
