Emulex said it will fight a Digital Equipment suit.

Fred Cox, chairman of Costa-Mesa based Emulex, charged that Digital’s recent patent-infringement lawsuit is just an attempt to nose its competitors out of the computer peripherals market. Digital wants to bar Emulex from marketing and selling disk controllers that are compatible with certain Digital computer systems. Cox said he does not believe that the seven Digital patents in question are enforceable. Digital officials declined comment.
