Reagan’s Cancer
Your editorial (July 16), “The President’s Cancer,” suggests that if the President survives his case of cancer with excellent medical care it ought to inspire others not to neglect checkups and help “dispel some of the mystery and fear that cloak the dreaded word” of cancer.
I would also like to suggest that, if he survives, it ought to inspire the President himself to:
1--Get behind air quality regulation and toxic waste mangement, which also help prevent cancer.
2--Get behind some sort of national health insurance or other form of public care so that every citizen in the United States can enjoy the frequent checkups and first-rate care that he does.
