Woman Puts Bite on Rape Suspect; He’s Arrested at Hospital
A North Hollywood woman literally put the bite on a major San Fernando Valley rape suspect this morning, police said.
The 26-year-old woman, fighting off a pre-dawn attack in her Blix Street apartment, bit the rape suspect’s hand so savagely that she severed part of a fingertip.
Police said Terry Allen Wilson, 30, fled to his car, leaving a half-block trail of blood. Detectives, convinced that the suspect would seek treatment, began telephoning local hospitals and arrested Wilson at a Panorama City hospital within an hour. Police said Wilson will be booked on suspicion of attempted rape.
Wilson is suspected of 15 rapes and five attempted rapes during the past year in North Hollywood and Burbank, police said. They said he attacked women after breaking into their homes.
Detectives at mid-morning had yet to find the missing fingertip.
