A total of $6,000 seized in three drug arrest cases has been stolen from a safe in the watch commander’s office at the Malibu sheriff’s station. Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Squires said the safe often holds as much as $200,000 taken as evidence in criminal cases or posted as bail. Squires said several watch commanders have access to the combination safe.
