Support for Freeway Call Boxes
As a co-author of Senate Bill 1199 on freeway call boxes, I was pleased to note your editorial support for the measure (Dec. 1).
I also appreciate the recognition afforded to me as a strong proponent of call boxes on a statewide basis.
My Senate Bill 1135, to provide call boxes across the state, was held back at my request this session in favor of Sen. William Craven’s SB 1199. SB 1199 is the measure that is now under review in Orange County.
As a co-author of SB 1199, I hope it provides a viable means to implement call boxes in our county. If not, I am indeed prepared to move my SB 1135 to achieve that goal.
